My next guest on the blogger story series comes from the blog, BossLatina. Her name is Yamilette Platero. She is a blogger on a mission to help other bloggers find success. Here is her story in her own words.

Blogger story interview featuring Yamilette

How did you hear about blogging? What did you hear about blogging?

My first experience with blogging was when I encountered Centsational Girl about 8 years ago if I remember correctly.

When did you start your blog?

July 2016

Why did you start your blog?

I wanted to help other bloggers because when I started out there was no one out there that I could use as a resource to help me understand the complexities of blogging and how to make money from it. I usually like to give a different perspective to my readers and I like to keep it pretty real. I don’t appreciate it when other bloggers give a lot of fluff or pretty obvious advice so I like to get straight the point so my readers can get the most out of my posts.

What is the purpose or theme of your blog?

Besides giving information about blogging and social media, I also provide feminine stock photos for bloggers to use on their blogs and social media profiles. It can be hard to find both good quality and affordable stock photos and sometimes when you find affordable images they aren’t always your style so I like to provide my members with more than one option every month at great prices.

How many blogs do you own?

2 (my other blog is a DIY/Home Decor blog www.thelatinanextdoor.com)

What has been your biggest frustration with blogging?

Honestly, just finding the time to do all the things involved with blogging. It’s pretty time consuming when you do everything on your own.

What has been your greatest blogging success?

As of right now my stock photography membership. It has brought me a way to effectively monetize my blog and grow my email list.

What is the most crucial step for you in growing your blog?

Connecting with others. Sometimes the simplest collaboration can lead to so much exposure and success and I have found that to be a great way to get your name out there.

Do you see yourself continuing with blogging in the future?

Absolutely! I’m in it for the long haul. Blogs are ever-evolving, so at any moment my focus may shift depending on the need of my readers.

I am so happy to have met Yamilette. She does outstanding work on her blog. Make sure you check out the BossLatina and sign up to get those beautiful stock photos to use on your blog.

The blogger story series from the Desk of Katina Davenport. This is a 5 week series of interviews featuring bloggers from various niches. This week I am featuring Yamilette Platero from BossLatina.

I’ve been having trouble trying to figure out how to monetize my blog actually. I’m a writer. I just don’t know what to sell other than my writing, but I’m already a freelance writer. Do you have any ideas?

A lovely interview – I love reading about how other bloggers started and what they are doing. In fact, I just started an interview series with bloggers on my own site for that reason!

    Thanks for sharing

I totally agree with you about starting your list early. It is much easier to do that and take care of it than trying to revive a list with little engagement years later.

Great interview. I actually just read like three of her post from Pinterest. So, it’s kind of funny to come here, the same day and read a little about her.

What a great interview! As bloggers, it is tough for us to find a start and then a direction with our line of work. I loved how she was able to share her experiences 🙂

It is so good to hear the struggles that other bloggers go through and how they have over come them and had success. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.

    Wow; she’s beautiful.

I see all these blogging interviews/tips and realize I’m probably doing it all wrong – I have no niche; write about everything and anything… but I enjoy doing it so 🙂 I’ll make money off my writing business instead and leave my blog for a hobby, I think 🙂

Great interview questions! I always wonder what calls different bloggers to start their websites, especially on their particular topics!
