A new year brings a fresh start.
A fresh start is not for those that didn’t achieve weight loss goals.
A new year is a chance for bloggers get on track and become focused.
Are you ready to set blog goals in the new year and achieve them? I’m ready! So let’s begin.
What is the vision for your blog?
If you have never established a yearly vision for your blog, it is time to start thinking about one.
Think about what direction you are going to take your blog in 2018. Think about all of the lessons you learned within your niche that can be expanded to help your audience in the coming year?
You can also think of the vision for your blog as a mission statement. Example, this year I will focus on helping [XYZ] audience to achieve a specific goal.
Doing so can solidify any content you would like to create as well as finding helpful products. Maybe you can even create your first product.
Establish Monthly Goals
Goals are important. When you set a goal you are creating a path for success. Without a goal there is nothing to achieve and you are just aiming in the dark.
Establishing monthly goals for your blog can only lead you to thinking about doing your best to achieve them.
Goals can be set to establish a particular number of pageviews or followers on Instagram, for example. You can also establish how many posts to write each week.
Your goals should remain within the context of the vision so the goals can work with your vision instead of against.
Regularly Perform Audience Research
Regular audience research is a huge component to achieving your goals. Everything you create is centered around the need of your target audience. This should be done often. I even have a section in my blogging planner just for audience research for the month.
I am always searching to discover what my target audience might be asking in Facebook groups or forums. I’m also looking for specific terms my targeted audience is using so I can use them as keywords or copy in my blog posts.
Plan Your Content Regularly
Regular content scheduling is the key to keeping your blog updated. Google loves when websites are always updated with fresh content and that is why blogs are loved by Google.
There are so many pro bloggers shouting the praises of having an editorial calendar. They should because an editorial calendar will keep you organized and ready to publish new content consistently.
Let’s say you don’t have an editorial calendar. You could fill a three ringed binder with weekly planner sheets where you write out the blog post title, publish date, keywords to use, and content upgrade ideas.
If you consistently prepare your blog posts in this manner, you will start to see better results because your ideas are well organized.
In order to set blog goals in the new year and achieve them you must plan. The plan you set is a road map to knowing what steps to take to becoming a successful blogger. You will be able to create a workflow by planning and setting goals. No more shooting arrows in the dark. Create a plan that you can physically see and watch how your blog takes off in the coming year.
Ready to take your blog to the next level? Then take action and plan with a blogger planner for 2018.
